President's Greeting

Picture

Brandi Hicks

Greetings and welcome to the virtual home of the Southwest Dallas County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I am honored to serve as this chapter’s 4th President following in the footsteps of three distinguished women who blazed the trail before me. Since its inception on April 30, 2004, SWDCA has pursued excellence in the areas of Service, Scholarship, and Sisterhood.

Chartered by fifty-one dynamic women with vision, SWDCA continues to faithfully serve and support the communities of Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Duncanville, Lancaster, Wilmer and Hutchins.

As an organization committed to scholarship and service, SWDCA has awarded approximately $80,000 in scholarships, helped to preserve our environment through our Adopt-A-Street program, mentored and inspired our youth through our Dr.  Betty Shabazz Delta Academy, Delta GEMS and EMBODI programs, and continued to support everyone’s right to vote by hosting several Voters Registration events as a part of our Social Action Program. These are only a few of our accomplishments.

And we are not done. We are a chapter on the move! I encourage you to browse our webpage regularly and support our public service activities. Join us on our mission as we continue to make a visible difference to the communities we serve.
