SWDCA ChapterDelta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was founded on the campus of Howard University on January 13, 1913, by 22 daring young women. Since that time, the membership of the sorority has grown to over 200,000 members representing over 1,000 collegiate and alumnae chapters located in the United States, England, Japan (Tokyo and Okinawa), Germany, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Jamaica and the Republic of Korea, and Liberia.
The Southwest Dallas County Alumnae Chapter (SWDCA) was chartered on April 30, 2004, with 51 members to serve the communities of Desoto, Lancaster, and Wilmer-Hutchins, all located in the southern sector of Dallas County. Since the chartering, SWDCA has expanded its service area to include Cedar Hill and Duncanville, and its membership has grown to almost 200 members. |
