Economic Development

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. seeks to support the local economy of each of its chapters and to educate its members about becoming financially stable through the Financial Fortitude Initiative.

The Financial Fortitude initiative is comprised of ten components and provides a collaboration of information from major economic corporations and other well-known financial institutions. The ten components include Goal Setting, Financial Planning, Budgeting, Debt Management, Savings and Investments, Retirement Planning, Homeownership, Insurance, Estate Planning, and Entrepreneurship.
 

The initiative helps members of the Sorority spread financial education throughout their local communities.

The Southwest Dallas County Alumnae Chapter (SWDCA) is committed to supporting the 
community through:
  • 30 for 30 Financial Literacy Workshops
  • ​Financial fortitude workshops
  • Home-buying seminars
  • Memberships in the Cedar Hill, Desoto, Duncanville, and Lancaster Chambers of Commerce
  • Supporting minority-owned/small businesses in our local communities
